EVENT RECAP | Communities Beyond Crisis: Participatory Action Research as a Transformative Pathway

On March 26, 2021, Pratt and the New School hosted their first collaborated event which is part of the Communities Beyond Crisis speaker series. In this event titled “Participatory Action Research as a Transformative Pathway”, speaker Dayna Cunningham from MIT's CoLab answered important questions like:

How is PAR different from social research?

How is knowledge created?

Why is PAR important to inform crisis management?

Watch the full event on YouTube link below and catch the next event in the speaker series on 4/1!

CoLab works in communities that are facing disruptive moments. Sometimes they are environmental crises. Sometimes they are political changes or policy crises as in for example the closure of a hospital to try to save money. But throughout we are looking at places where the arrangements - the social and economic arrangements - are shifting and often marginalized groups and communities are left out of the bargaining process
