centering justice community of practice
Established following the inaugural 2024 Centering Justice (CJ) Symposium, the CJ Community of Practice is a collective of eight environmental justice academic centers, spearheaded by scholars committed to modeling service and accountability to climate and environmental justice communities and movements. The main purpose of this Community of Practice is to coordinate our shared strengths and skills in service of climate and environmental justice and to tap into this group’s wide networks, encouraging referrals and trusted partnerships which enable collaboration and expanded impact. The Community of Practice is guided by four main principles as outlined in the 2024 Centering Justice Manifesto. In this time of intensifying environmental crises, this community stands ready to provide capacity, research and technical accompaniment through innovative collaborations.
