Patricia Cortado
Program and Communications Associate
Patricia Cortado (she/they) is the Program and Communications Associate of the Environmental Justice Movement Fellowship at the Tishman Environment and Design Center, where she stewards storytelling and communications that amplify environmental justice movement leaders. A queer Filipina immigrant from Newark, NJ, her work lives at the intersection of environmental justice, culture, and collective memory, ensuring stories of resilience and resistance are deeply felt.
She has worked across community-based storytelling, digital media, and organizing, and is the founder of Kapwang Tao Media LLC. She has collaborated with partners including Ironbound Community Corporation, Down Bottom Farms, and the New Jersey Environmental Justice Alliance to center frontline narratives and support campaigns advancing housing, environmental, and food justice.
At the EJ Disrupt Design Fellowship, she designs and curates content that uplifts artists, cultural organizers, and community leaders across the United States, Puerto Rico, and the Mariana Islands. She approaches this work as a steward of story and collective power, grounded in justice, community, and the futures we dare to imagine.
