TEDC Associate Director Ana Baptista Leads Skills Lab: TRANSFORMING OUR TRASH SYSTEMS
Ana Baptista, Associate Director of TEDC and Assistant Professor of Professional Practice at the Milano School of International Affairs, Management, and Urban Policy, led an interactive TEDC Skills Lab about transforming our trash systems, which examined zero waste policies and environmental justice implications.The Skills Lab covered the history of the Ironbound trash incinerator in Newark, NJ, the politics surrounding where our trash is dumped, and how anyone can be a part of the zero waste movement.Students at the Skills Lab also discussed what areas of waste interest them and what they would hope to learn more about in the zero waste world.
