Join the Moving Forward Network (MFN), Natural Resources Defense Council (NRDC), and Union of Concerned Scientists (UCS) for the Climate Week premiere of The Lines We Live On, a documentary series centering the people, places, and movements advancing environmental justice across the United States.
Season One features the work of two Moving Forward Network members: East Yard Communities for Environmental Justice in Southern California and the Tallahassee Food Network in Florida. Through the lives and leadership of mark! Lopez and Dr. P. Qasimah Boston, the series explores how environmental justice is built over time—through organizing, food, culture, community care, intergenerational leadership, and the everyday work of creating healthier places to live.
During this special Climate Week gathering, guests will experience back-to-back screenings of both episodes of Season One, followed by a conversation bringing together the people featured in the films, filmmakers, MFN staff, and environmental justice leaders.
Together, we’ll explore the stories behind the films, what environmental justice movements can teach us about sustaining change over generations, and how the lines that shape our communities—where we live, what we breathe, what nourishes us, and who holds power—can also become lines of connection, solidarity, and collective action.
We’ll conclude with an audience Q&A and light refreshments, creating space to continue the conversation, meet one another, and consider what each of us can carry forward from these stories.
