People’s Climate Innovation Center (Climate Innovation) is excited to host you during NYC Climate Week for a mini-pilot workshop of the National Association of Climate Resilience Planners' (NACRP) newly launched Community-Driven Planning Curriculum!
Community-driven planning is an effective alternative to traditional planning processes that often separate people from power, knowledge and decision-making. The curriculum was designed to equip leaders across sectors to navigate real-world tensions that emerge in multi-stakeholder community-driven planning spaces — including power imbalances, conflict, institutional constraints, and competing priorities — while supporting groups in moving toward alignment, readiness, and long-term capacity for effective, equitable implementation and sustainability. Participants will have the opportunity to engage in embodied practices, worksheet-based tools, simulations, role play, peer learning, and power analysis exercises designed to reflect the complexity of real community-driven planning environments.
