FutureFEST: Climate Reimagined is NJEJA’s first annual youth climate justice convening, taking place on Saturday, September 20, 2025 from 11:00 AM – 3:30 PM at Kean University. This FREE event is geared toward high school and college students.

This intergenerational gathering is led by Gen Z climate activists from across New Jersey and designed to inspire, activate, and connect youth and allies in the fight for climate and environmental justice. Participants will engage in:

✷ Youth-led panels, workshops, and trainings

✷ Organizing skill-shares

✷ Climate-focused art, fashion, and culture

✷ Hands-on activities on composting, textile justice, clean beauty, and more

[EXTERNAL] Making Change: Women Designing an Environmentally Just Future

Libby Washburn, Special Assistant to the President for Native Affairs at the White House, will be the keynote speaker at the conference, Women Designing an Environmentally Just Future, to be held on the NJIT campus and virtually on March 25. The conference will focus on the communities hit first and hardest by climate change and environmental degradation, while highlighting the work of local leaders to reverse the damage.

[EXTERNAL] Reflecting Our Community: 2020 Conference of the NY-NJ Harbor & Estuary Program

Our conference this year is focused on fostering better community engagement, highlighting the efforts of community leaders and other partners that are striving for more inclusive and equitable management of the Estuary and our waterfronts. The conference week will include interactive sessions on fairer public access, community-led habitat restoration and water quality management, environmental justice, and advancing inclusiveness and diversity in the sciences and environmental professions.
